Accessing SharePoint Intranet Using Google Chrome and FireFox on Mac

When I try to open our company SharePoint Portal with Google Chrome or FireFox from a Mac computer, the login popup keeps asking endlessly, I tried Domain \ Username but still ask for username and password, it only works with Safari but not Chrome or FF Please let me know why me and everyone using MAC cannot access the SharePoint Portal. it uses NTLM authentication with SSL. Any idea?

It may not fix it. You also need to change the additional setting.

network.auth.force-generic-ntlm must be set to true.

this problem is caused by NTLM not enabled by default in firefox ...

try to edit this option: network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris
