Image map edge detection
if I have a map - for example from combined states or an anatomical picture of the human body or some kind of image with discrete areas, and I have a simple black and white outline of an image, what is the easiest way to determine the coordinates of discrete sections to use in an image map html?
I used a coffee cups map maker which is tedious (but also the best image map dummy I could find). Is there something - maybe free, maybe expensive - that can do this task automatically?

I really like iMapBuilder , I installed the Chrome app and find it very easy to create image maps there for both regular and irregular areas.
You can import your image, set the scope and actions, and then just add the embed code to your site.
I don't create too many image maps, so it might not be what you are looking for at all, but I hope it helps.
