Do you need Excel for Xceed DataGrid ExcelExporter?

When using ExcelExporter on Xceed DataGrid, do we need to install MS Office Excel for it to work? I am still planning to create an application, but MS Office is not installed on the target PC. But I would like to create a file that MS Excel can open.
