Need help updating PEAR to install PHPUnit
I am trying to install PHPUnit with PEAR. That's what I'm running ...
PEAR Version: 1.7.2
PHP Version: 5.3.8-ZS5.5.0

Running on: Windows NT L-PC 6.1 build 7600 (Windows 7 Home Premium Edition) i586
When I try to install, I get an error that says I need to update PEAR ...

So, I believe I need to update PEAR. I ran pear pears update and got the following ...

But it is not updated. When I run the pear version again, it shows that I am still on 1.7.2. How to fix it?

Download and unzip Structures_Graph from pear.php.net. ( Direct link ) Note :? may want to get a version older than your current PEAR installation, although I had no problem with the latest version (1.0.4) when running PEAR 1.8.0
Move folders / files in place To find where to move this folder if you don't know: cmdline> pear config-show Find the path for "PEAR php_dir directory" which is your PEAR \ lib folder
"Structures" → go to the "PEAR \ lib" folder
The rest can be removed as they will be created when you actually install Structures_Graph, but for reference: "LICENSE" → uninstall or move it to the PEAR root or documents or wherever you are "docs" → uninstall or go to the folder tests "PEAR \ docs" -> remove from folder "PEAR \ tests" "package.xml" -> remove any other package Files
Install "Structures_Graph". Although the files are present, Structures_Graph is not yet installed. command line> pear -a install Structures_Graph The latest version from your configured channel will be installed (for example pear.php.net). The -a argument also install any dependent packages
Upgrade your PEAR installation to the current version cmdline> pear upgrade PEAR
Update the Console_GetOpt package. It was probably not installed correctly, but cmdline> update pear Console_Getopt
