Is there a way to back up old iOS simulators for future X-Mac App Store updates?

I installed Xcode 4.3.2 using the Mac App Store when it first came out. There have been several updates to the app itself so far, and I noticed that after updating the app, the old iOS simulators I installed (4.3 and 5.0) are gone and need to be re-downloaded. While downloading this data has not yet been a problem, it is rather awkward to download more than 1GB of tools after every Xcode update. Is there a way to back up these simulators so that I can just copy them back when there is another Xcode Mac App Store update?

All previous versions of simulators are stored in /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs

Thus, you should simply create a backup of this folder or copy the simulators you want.
