Getting Microsoft Virtual PC to Run on Linux

Has anyone tried to get Windows 7/8 to work on Linux by downloading Microsoft Virtual PC directly from Microsoft? It doesn't seem to work using the default boxes or virtual machine (QEMU) on CentOS / Red Hat?

SETTINGS:
Base Memory 1024 MB
Video Memory 128 MB
Network Adapter: Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (NAT)
Windows Virtual Box (from Microsoft)

Is there a chance Microsoft or modern.ie will just release an iso install and not a native virtual system file?

It looks like you are trying to get Microsoft IE Virtual PC images to work in VirtualBox (not the virtual PC itself).

Fortunately, there is a tool to automate the image conversion process and make them work in VirtualBox. Take a look at ievms .

Check out http://www.modern.ie/en-us/virtualization-tools#downloads

These images are legitimate as those modern.ie

launched by Microsoft.

The site provides a wide range of modern Windows images for Windows / Mac / Linux.

Downloading Microsoft Virtual PC from http://dev.modern.ie/ (MS) only supports Virtual Box on Linux, not the Virtual Machine Manager that ships with CentOS.
