I want to protect my epub files from invalid access. Does anyone know how to protect an epub file from copying and printing?

EPub files do not have a built-in method for digital rights management (DRM), which is what you ask about. The spec allows various DRM schemes to be implemented in ePub files (see here -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPUB#Digital_rights_management ), but there is no standardized, ePub-specific way to do this. So, if you want to do this, check for the different types of DRM available out there for ePub.

One potential option could be DocProtect 4 .

If you publish your book on Amazon or Apple, you can force them to wrap it in their DRM, which greatly simplifies the rules on which devices can be read (for example, up to N devices registered with the buyer). This is not something you really want to do yourself. However, you should consider whether you really want to do this.

Yes, you need a DRM (Digital Rights Management) solution. Which is also expensive, implementation is very difficult. You have to choose your solution the way you need, for example www.editionguard.com
