Update OfflineIMAP Command on Command

I need help writing a script to update offlineIMAP on demand.

It will have to abort an already running offlineIMAP instance, start offlineIMAP sync, and then continue with normal sync updates every five minutes. (autorefresh = 5)

The situation is that I have mutt and offlineIMAP. I can hear my phone receiving mail, but I cannot reply via mutt until offlineIMAP starts syncing.
