Windows Server 2008 - Access denied on folder. Even on the Administrator

I have a folder that I created located at C: \ SharedFolder in Windows 2008 Server R2 edition. I managed to access it all day long, but now for some reason I can't even open the folder locally. I am registered as a computer administrator, there are no other usernames on the computer.

I try to open a folder and I get "You do not have permission to access this folder"

Then he says, "Click Continue to permanently access this folder."

I click the Continue button, then I get ..

Folder access denied.

Then he says, "To access this folder, you will need to use the security tab."

Then I click on the security tab and I get ..

"You do not have permission to access the object rights folder" on the Security tab in the folder ...

Has anyone ever seen this before? I have data in this folder that I really need.

The answer to the original question is that you should reset to allow access to the folder even if it is on the administrator account itself. Apparently it was some bug that was apparently fixed in the latest patch from Microsoft.

I get this problem quite often on Windows 2008, and if the normal way to get ownership doesn't work, I can often resolve it by closing any open Shared Folder Sessions

with a plugin Computer Management

. Once all open sessions are closed, I can access the folder.

To close sessions of open folders (the user whose sessions are closed will lose access to what they opened)

  • Start → Administrative Tools → Computer Management
  • Computer Management -> System Tools -> Shared Folders -> Sessions
  • Right Click -> Close Session

This could be due to an encrypted file system. Alternatively, open WinExplorer and use the Security / Advanced / Owner tab to physically take ownership of this folder.
