IOS xx adoption rate
I am curious what percentage of iOS users are running the operating system version. I'd really like to shrink my new app to 6.0+ but also don't want to screw 5.x folk.
I've done a lot of Googling, but it mostly turns technical articles that are either not current or not informative enough (all about iOS 6.1).
Is there a known source for this that is updated in real time (ish)? I can't seem to find it.

I have data for several applications with a total of over a million downloads, and I can combine and disclose them as long as I'm non-specific.
From our numbers, you can see that the current breakdown of users in the US, Canada and Europe is roughly equal:
- iOS 6.0.x - 76%
- iOS 5.1.x - 17%
- iOS 4.x - 4%
- iOS 5.0.x - 2%
In the world - which in terms of our users basically means adding Latin America, so it's all America and Europe - it's more like:
- iOS 6.0.x - 44%
- iOS 5.1.x - 43%
- iOS 4.x - 8%
- iOS 5.0.x - 4%
With minor numbers at 6.1 so far, but I think our aggregation probably has a little latency.
However, the two sets of numbers are not quite alike. All products are similar, but those that contribute to the top set of numbers are far more popular than others.
If I were to assume that I would say that it is not too unreasonable that more popular apps should see a more curve, as they are more likely to be tried by people browsing the store, and people who have recently purchased hardware are more likely to browse score. But this is just speculation, which I have no statistical basis for.
