Jenkins - Undecidable Parent POM for Could not find artifact and points "parent.relativePath" in wrong local POM
I have a problem with assembling jenkins. As the title states, it is "Undecidable Parent POM for Could not find artifact and" parent.relativePath "in wrong local POM problem frequently encountered on stackoverflow but I did not find a suitable one. So here is the problem description
My project structure looks like this:
/root-project
+-----------/pom.xml
/root-project/modul-a/
+-------------------/pom.xml
/root-project/modul-b/
+-------------------/pom.xml
/root-project/modul-c/
+-------------------/pom.xml
On my local machine (windows) I can build my project from / using:
mvn -f root-project/pom.xml clean install
has no error, even with empty store.
But jenkins (linux) cannot do this.

As mentioned in other articles I tried but it didn't change the result. Why should it point to a repository where the parent has never been. So does anyone have a suggestion what am I doing wrong?

for your parent in your example pom module is . root-project
<artifactId>
in the parent pom . In jenkins output it seems the artifact name is resolved to . Try setting the parent pom to (note the extra "-"). prject

I'm not sure how it works on your machine. Could you post the output from mvn help:effective-pom
on your machine and machine running jenkins?
For which you can enable a flag -X
for debug output to see the actions that Maven might try to do. I found this useful as I am debugging the configuration of my Maven projects.
