Compile error Ruby-1.9.3

I am having trouble compiling Ruby-1.9.3 on my Linux box (Redhat).

I tried using RVM and got the following errors:

I also tried to manually deploy ruby ​​but downloaded the original tarballs and ran configure / make etc. and got the same error when compiling thread.c

Any ideas what the problem might be? I tried uninstalling rvm / ruby ​​and retrying several times to no avail. Any help would be appreciated!

Some options for you ...

If you have a RedHat package manager named "yum" try this:

$ sudo yum install ruby
$ sudo yum install ruby19
$ sudo yum install ruby19-devel 

      

Try ruby-build:

https://github.com/sstephenson/ruby-build

What you are looking for is the difference between 32 bit and 64 bit. If you see items such as "686" which are usually 32 bits; if you see items like "x64" it is usually 64 bits.

Are you using any compiler flags to select 32 bits? For example, in the Makefile:

CFLAGS="-m32" LDFLAGS="-m32" CXXFLAGS="-m32" 

      

If so, change them all to "-m64", then make clean

try again.

If your GCC is not current (4.7.2), I suggest updating it make clean

and trying again.
