What is the correct way to use SparseDataFrame in Pandas?

pandas.DataFrame(a)
Out[41]:
   1   2   3
0  1   2 NaN
1  1 NaN   3

a = [{1:1.0,2:2.0}, {1:1.0,3:3.0}]

pandas.DataFrame(a)
Out[43]:
   1   2   3
0  1   2 NaN
1  1 NaN   3

pandas.SparseDataFrame(a)
