EJabberd Simple Examples

I just installed EJabberd 14.07 on mac os. I am new to EJabberd, I want to learn basic how to create a Hello World example. What will be the project structure, how do I compile and run the EJabberd program? I have searched but could not find any useful link that helps me understand the basic things. If you know, please suggest some link to help me understand.
