Failed to deploy maven to Github

I am having a little problem when trying to do mvn deploy

I see an error:

Expected data to be of type "object"; value was: nil.

For the github site plugin.

This error occurs due to recent API changes. Use version 0.10-SNAPSHOT before the final release.

More details and a fix is described in the github issues.



Update : There is
no 0.10 release and the described bug has been fixed for most users. Check out the issue to find out more.

As of 2014-09-24 The problem disappears when the github profile changes and has a public email and

From what I can tell, this appears to be a github api issue. The plugin worked fine the last time I used it, and now it doesn't. The upgrade from 0.8 to 0.9 did not make any difference.
