Grails with MSSQL Server

I tried to build my first grails app but there are some problems connecting my app to MSSQL server.

My actions were (on windows cmd):

  • Command grails create-app hello

  • Command cd hello

  • After that, I configured the dataSource file:

    The Grails database was created on SQL Server.

  • Command grails create-domain-class Hi

    Then I configured the Hi.groovy domain class

  • And finally, I launched the application with the command grails run-app

I think I need to create a new Hi table with two fields in my Grails base, but I am getting an error with a stacktrace like this:

The reason is that the JDBC driver could not be loaded as indicated in the trace:

ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver

I am using the following in my DataSource.groovy:



driverClassName = "net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver"
dialect = "org.hibernate.dialect.SQLServerDialect"

And in BuildConfig.groovy put something like:

    runtime 'net.sourceforge.jtds:jtds:1.3.0'
}
