Why should I structure my HTML emails with tables and not divs?

Due to the lack of css compatibility with the email clients listed in Email client CSS support . This way, your rules inside style
will be ignored in Gmail and not in the row table rules

Since Outlook 2007 (on Windows), HTML emails are rendered using Word. Word doesn't have very good HTML and CSS support, so why are you stuck with tables for layout.
