Accessing call log history in iphone

I went around many sites, all provided the same information that we cannot access call_history.db My question is that we can change the access mode for this db using the system (command chmod 777 / db path / ')

Application apps for apps run in a sandbox. You do not have read / write permission to change these directories from any application running in its sandbox.

why do you want to have call log information? also why do you want it to change to such liberal permissions?

you do not have root access to the device (non-jailbroken) and if you find a way to escalate root resources what are the chances of using apple on the appstore?
