Create a custom Windows 8 Start Tile for an app without window 8
After installing Google Chrome browser on my Win8 machine, I was a little surprised to see a custom tile in the Windows 8 Start menu. Unlike any other "standard" app, Chrome has a dark gray tile with a slightly larger icon. However, it looks like this is not a Windows 8 app. If I launch Chrome, I am back on the desktop and everything works as it has for the past few years.
How do I add this setting to my application? I have a .NET 3.51 WPF application and so far I only have a regular tile with a default color and a small icon.

Live Slices are only available for Windows Store apps. They are not supported for common desktop applications. Google Chrome gets special behavior as it is the default browser and the default browser acts as the Windows Store app .
