Android 50mb limits access to unity

My app is not completely built with unity, unity3D is just the part that works in the subview.

The app is 90 MB in total. I see 2 solutions to the 50Mb problem:

  • ask unity to create a split for me. unfortunately this only seems to work for an app fully executed with unity.
  • extension files. This seems to work fine with dbb or sqlite image files, because if you know the location, you can easily open such files. Unfortunately, in unity there is some special folders ( assets/bin

    and src/main/jniLibs

), and I do not control their location when I dounity.play()

Any idea?

For anyone who can help, using .obb

generated from unity worked.

This is the unity script snippet I ran before building the apk for google play

mv UnityProject/assets/bin/ app/src/main/assets/
mv UnityProject/libs/unity-classes.jar app/libs/
rm -rf app/src/main/jniLibs/armeabi-v7a
mv UnityProject/libs/armeabi-v7a/ app/src/main/jniLibs

Placing the files this way will force the Android application to work with the extension file provided by Unity.
