Nopcommerce 3.40 changing themes

I'm ready to start setting up nopCommerce the way I want it. My initial thought was that I would just hack the master layout and push my own Css on top of everything.

Then I thought. Wait. Their themes are even better, their free themes. So I think I should download the theme and start hacking this project before installing it with a NopCommerce admin account.

I have looked through this thread. eg -> http://www.nopcommerce.com/p/1381/noproot-bootstrap-theme-free.aspx

Yes, there are a lot of things and a lot of files. Does anyone have a brief knowledge to give me the inner workings of these pre-built themes. Perhaps some idea of what the config file does to propagate files, css, views and / or routes of change in the original config.

Or can someone tell me which pages (views), css I can touch without blowing anything?

If you edit an existing nopcommerce theme, you get a single theme. It doesn't have to be done this way. There are good methods to create / install a nopcommerce theme. Just think about how you can activate multiple themes at the same time so you can switch between them.

The idea is to have separate folders for each of the themes and view files.

You can find information about the config file here: http://docs.nopcommerce.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=1442509 You can find everything about nopCommerce theme and frameworks here: http://docs.nopcommerce.com/display / nc / Designer + manual

Hope it helps.
