I tried some random things like clearing my .gitignore file and deleting the vendor / syfony / Finder directory (which doesn't seem to work) but no luck. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

This is a bug introduced today for Windows users (Vagrant on Windows too). I've reported this and will fix it: https://github.com/symfony/symfony/issues/11984 .

The file was transferred to a file in a folder named r + eg? e * x [c] a (r) s, which contains several invalid characters (in particular * and?) on NTFS file systems. Until it is restored, this package is broken as well as any that requires it as a dependency.

The PR was merged and now it needs to be fixed.
