What's the recommended compression for MinSize for Tomcat 7?

I understand that this will depend on the following factors:

• Increased CPU usage while compressing

• Bandwidth (using akamai, etc. can be expensive in terms of using more bandwidth)

Based on the above factors and any others, what is the generally recommended value / range for compressing MinSize?

Does tomcat have pre-compression feature?
