Xxtrace color output
I have a .sh-script that uses set -o xtrace
to print all of the following commands. I want to color these teams. I tried to use PS4 variable like this:
export PS4='\[\e[36m\]\+ \[\e[m\]'
But this is only the color +
-character and if I leave \[\e[m\]
my full output and the output of the executed program is colored. Is there another variable that is added after the typed command where I can reset the color or is there some other way. Thank.

The value of this parameter is expanded as with PS1, and the value is printed before each bash command is displayed during the execution trace. The first character of the PS4 extended meaning is repeated several times as necessary to indicate multiple levels of indirection. The default is "+".
