How to remove / hide search field using sDom data profile

I am using jquery-datatables to generate tables. I was wondering if there is a way to remove / hide the Search box above the table. I don't quite understand how the sDom

datatables property works, but I tried this:

    "sDom": '<"top">tip', //not quite sure how can i remove the search from the table.

      

        
        
        
      

    

Any ideas on how it works sDom
