Joomla 2.5 (3.x) Extension Manager not finding extension updates

I have a problem with Joomla 2.5 extension updates.

I have released a new version for a plugin made by me and installed on my site. I made a xml update server but included other extensions that have a lot of updates not found.

What could be the problem?

Ok, after a year I could see the problem (for my extensions): on the xml server of the update server, the tag element had a typo (minimal typo) and the Joomla update manager couldn't find updates for my extension.

the value for the element tag is plugin_name (look at the underscore), but the plugin is a plugin



for third party extensions, it was a Joomla bug and I am updating the site to the current Joomla version.
