Contact with leading company CRM Dynamics 2013

I know CRM 2011

you cannot convert a contact to lead

. Is this possible in CRM 2013

.

In simple terms, I created a contact and grouped it in an account. I would like to convert this contact to lead so that I can record the sale.

The odd all-leading CRM package provides this, in 2011 it was not available in 2013.

This feature is not available out of the box. However, there are a number of ways to do this.

The simplest thing would be to create an On Demand workflow that creates a Lead with information from Contact. This can be manually triggered for specific contacts - since I assume you don't want to do this for every contact.

An alternative is to use the SDK, you can create a Lead from the information in Contact and have a ribbon button to invoke the SDK code.

Typically, you convert (Qualify) a Lead into an account, contact and / or opportunity. It is not necessary to convert the contact to master.

I think your problem is terminology, not functionality.

If you want to record a new potential sale for an existing account or contact, the most obvious challenge would be to create an opportunity.

If for some reason you want to create a potential lead and want to use a Lead to navigate it so you can do a more formal prequalification before moving on to Opportunity, then simply create a Lead associated with the contact and account. Since there is already a relationship there, you are cold to do this by adding a subnetting grid on the Contact form or adding Drives to Form Navigation (like any other child object).

You don't need to "convert" the contact, keep it as it is, and just add another entry to represent a possible new sale.
