Enabling 10 Hz sampling rate in Ublox modules

I am using ublox NEO-M8N-0-01 GNSS Module. This module supports up to 5Hz GPS + GLONASS and only 10Hz GPS.

However, when I try to change the sample rate (via the UBX-CFG-RATE in the message view) I can increase it to 5Hz (measurement period = 200ms). Any value below 200ms is not possible (changes the field to pink).

This happens even if I receive an NMEA GEAGGA message.

How I did it, only GPS was via UBX-CFG-GNSS

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Thank you in advance

You are not saying how you tune the speed, but based on your description, I am assuming you are using u-center ublox software.

There is a simple explanation for this problem and a simple solution: their software has a bug (or hasn't been updated according to the final specification of the part).

The solution is not to use u-center, it is a PC software that is not complaining about the receiver. The receiver itself doesn't care what the spec sheet says, it will try to work at whatever speed you request.

Sending commands directly I was able to get a pretty reliable 10GHz GPS + Glonass. There is an occasional missing item, but it keeps up most of the time.

The only GPS launch you can get is faster than 10 Hz. If you play around with the settings and limit it to 8 channels, 18-19 Hz is reliable enough. Unfortunately 20Hz pushes it too much, you get positions at 10Hz.

Obviously, when doing these refresh rates, make sure your bot's speed is fast enough to handle the requested messages and speed.
