How can I find out which AWS area has the lowest latency from my location?
How can I check which area of Amazon has the lowest latency from my current location? Is there some script that calls the servers on all of them multiple times and calculates the average latency?
A preferred solution that also compares latency to the recently launched Frankfurt region (eu-central-1).

You can use a site like CloudWatch: http://www.cloudwatch.in/ . It measures the latency of EC2, SimpleDB, SQS and SNS services in your browser.
Edit: CloudWatch does not contain the new location eu-central-1, however I added a PR to add it. I will update this answer when it is accepted.
Edit 2: The PR has been accepted, the listing on the site now contains Frankfurt.
