Valgrind on Android 5 / L crashes

I have a compiled Valgrind for android target eabi x86 with NDK R10b. When starting the application for each step, for example here , valgrind crashes. entrance

Run code

  • this also happens to me on an Android 5 / L ARM emulator
  • I am using ubuntu 14
  • manually launching valgrind like / data / local / Inst / bin / valgrind / data / local / sample -bin works without issue
  • this worked fine with the same Valgrind compilation in API 18 emulator (ARM)
  • I tried to reinstall the file system to write enable mode, using adb shell mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock0 /system

    as well mount -o ro,remount /system

as well adb root && adb remount

    - no one trick

Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem here?

I had a similar error in my Widget Preview emulator app:

E/libprocessgroup﹕ failed to make and chown /acct/uid_10052: Read-only file system

After various searches and experiments on the internet, I found that the emulator is /sdcard

indeed read-only. (You can check this by trying to touch or push a file in the adb shell, or using Android Device Manager to examine the file system.)

The error and workaround described in Issue 78434 .

Bypass

  • Go to ADV folder in .android folder and find AVD file config.ini

    for example. ~/.android/avd/Nexus5_v19.avd/config.ini

    ...
  • Open it with a text editor. If you are on Windows, use a text editor that can handle Unix newlines.
  • Change hw.sdCard=no

    to hw.sdCard=yes

    .
  • Save this, start the emulator and check that / sdcard can be written.

Ok, I ran into this same problem and the above solution didn't work for me. I figured out how this happened exactly after I added Firebase Storage to my app. Checked build.gradle(Module:app)

, found conflicts of different Firebase versions, changed them all to the same version, Sync Project and now works :) Hope this help helps in the future.
