Can't connect to EC2 key decryption error

I have created a 64 bit instance of Windows Server 2012 on EC2. To connect to it, EC2 asks me to "Get password". So, I find a .pem file on my hard drive and it automatically fills in the private key in the box. When I click the Decrypt Password button, the error message "Password decryption failed" appears. I've tried this in Firefox, Chrome and Explorer, to no avail. Can anyone help me?

I had the same problem now. I can't provide a solution, but I'll explain what happened.

I used my company laptop (Win 7) which has many security measures (encrypted drive, antivirus, etc.). I don't know why, but apparently the uploaded file is being modified by this machine (maybe the file is supported?). I just know that I tried 5 times (creating new machines and new keys) and it always failed.

As soon as I tried the same procedure (new machine with new keyboard) with my personal desktop (Win 10) it worked instantly as always.

I tried my laptop again and it didn't work again.

So, all I can say is: try using a different machine. Pem file may be damaged by your current computer.
