SwitchCompat footer view

I tried to add the footer view to the navbox list containing SwitchCompat. On pre-KitKat devices, the footer is not displayed at all - after the debugger steps, the view is inflated and added as a footer, but not drawn at all.

Moving the view into the fragment view is not a problem - it draws correctly and behaves as you would expect.

Does anyone know why SwitchCompat doesn't play well with ListView footers?
