After setting up Android Studio, I was given a notification saying the / directory is under Git, but not registered in the settings

I'm not sure what this really means or what I need to do. If someone can take a minute to enlighten me, I would appreciate it.

When you receive this message, a "Configure" or "Ignore" option will appear. Click "Configure".

A list of versioning options appears and lists the path to your project under the heading "Unregistered Roots". Click on the path and then click the plus sign in the upper right corner. Screenshot of version control with unregistered root



Then click OK to exit version control settings.
