"Proxy server failed" in Google Chrome

My Google Chrome stops working and I don't know why. proxy server

not checked and Automatically detect settings

marked part LAN setting

.
But when I want to upload any site to it, the following message appears:

Failed to connect to proxy server.

I searched but no result! Is there a way to solve this problem?

I am using windows 8.
I uninstalled chrome and installed a newer version, but the same error exists and prevents chrome from being used.
my internet connection is fine and I can ping www.google.com

or use other browsers.

Try the following steps:

  • Run Chrome as administrator.
  • Go to settings in Chrome.
  • Go to the "Advanced Settings" section (to the end).
  • Go to the "Network" section and click "Change proxy settings".
  • A window will appear titled "Internet Properties"
  • Click "LAN Settings"
  • Cancel the check `` Use a proxy server for your local network ''
  • Check `` Automatically detect settings ''
  • Click OK and you're done!

  • Open Google Chrome.
  • Click on "Menu" in the upper right side. Next to the STAR symbol.
  • Click Show Advanced Settings.
  • Scroll down and find Network.
  • Click Change proxy settings.
  • On the "Connections" tab, select "LAN Settings".
  • Uncheck the "Use a proxy server for your local network" box.
  • Then click "OK".

Hope it helps.

Internet Explorer has a reset to factory button, and luckily it's chrome! try the link below and let us know. another option is to stop chrome and completely delete the c: \ users \% username% \ appdata \ local \ google folder and then reinstall chrome, but this will lose all your local settings and data.

Google doc on how to factory reset: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3296214?hl=en

I had the same problem with a recently installed copy of Chrome. If nothing works and your option is Use a proxy server your LAN

not checked, check it and uncheck it. Believe it or not, it might work. I don't know if this should be considered a bug or not.
