What is the sampling rate of the accelerometers built into an Android smartphone?

I am looking for information on the sample rate of a smartphone , and - more importantly - if this parameter is equal for most types of Android smartphones.

I know there are two sampling modes: low at 20Hz and standard at 100Hz. But yesterday I did an experiment with several types of smartphones and the "Samsung Galaxy Note 3" seems to have a sampling rate of 200Hz.

Now, my question is: is it true? And if so, do you know where I can find one or more academic papers or technical data sheets about these issues?

Thanks in advance,
Giacomo Alessandroni

A small search engine found Cochibos on the subject. The data is collected using Accelerometer Frequency and reported on the web page.

The search came up with an actual sample rate which appears to be related to the device driver. That is, the device driver sets the maximum sampling rate as shown in this article . Since the source code for the device is rarely reproduced by commercial phone drivers, it will be difficult to find reliable sources.

I've found several smartphone apps these days that analyze the sample rate of each mobile device.

The maximum sampling rate (this is the data I'm looking for) is not 100Hz for all devices. There are several devices that use a higher sampling rate.

In my opinion, this fact depends on technological evolution and on the fact that each manufacturer wants to overtake the other.

Thus, there is no maximum sampling rate that is equal for all devices.
