RSPEC Failure / Error: Cannot find matching line from backtrace

I'm stumped. I'm not sure how to find the source of my problems. Here is the error I am getting:

> bundle exec rspec spec

and here the specification

require 'spec_helper.rb'

RSpec.describe ThemeMaintainer do
  it 'should have tests'

end

Every time I run rspec spec

I immediately get an error on a different spec (this is a randomization of the test sequence). Obvious? there is nothing wrong with the ThemeMaintainer spec. And everyone I get the error can easily get through when I start on my own.

So my question is, how do I find a spec that doesn't really work?

I have 8 dirs per spec. I run them rspec spec/<dir>

8 separate runs and everything works fine. It is only when I run rspec spec

for the whole application that I get the error. Stacktrace is ALWAYS the same. The error is always the same.

I could use some guidelines for diagnosis.

Apparently, as recommended in the answer to a Github question, config.infer_spec_type_from_file_location!

shouldn't be used (as in shutdown in RSpec.configure) and that solves the problem.

I still don't know why this happened for 2 years, and so far I don't have any problem that she hasn't dealt with now.

You have not closed the block.

require 'spec_helper.rb'

RSpec.describe ThemeMaintainer do
  it 'should have tests' do
  end
end
