Importing XFA Form into AEM, Event Modifier does not fire

I have an XFA form (created in Adobe Designer ES4) with a change event handler defined in the field. When the form is rendered as PDF and opened in Reader, the change event handler works fine.

However, when importing XFA into AEM (Adobe Experience Manager Forms) forms, adding the field to the AEM form works, but the change event does not fire when it is supposed to. In the dropdown I had a change listener setting. I tried a simple case of javascript appearing on any change, but no luck. (Popups work in AEM)

Offering a bounty if someone can reproduce the bug and provide a solution for it. AEM probably needs some kind of customization.

When building a responsive form using XFA, the script change written in XFA fails for all fields. It only runs for radio buttons and test buttons.
