How do I manually trigger all Gmail filters in an entire inbox?

I know you can force the gmail filter to run (by "editing" it, but not making any changes, and then checking the "also applies to ..." checkbox).

But is there a way to select ALL filters and make them work across the entire mailbox?

I have about 50 filters (for my work email, I forward gmail). Sometimes it seems that they were asleep when many letters arrived in the mailbox. To manually start them one at a time is very tedious.

If anyone knows a way to automate the process, I'd love to hear about it! TIA.

This is a bit outdated, but I stumbled upon it while searching Google, so I thought some others might be landing on it.

I have not found an option to manually trigger or automatically trigger all filters. However, I found that you can skip a little faith with the following

  • Go to Settings -> Filters
  • Export all your filters to a file that you save on your computer.
  • Remove all your filters from GMail
  • Import your filters from a saved file
  • When importing, you will be able to select the checkbox that will run all imported filters for existing messages.

I found another way and it works like a charm for me, it's about how to remember gmail filters or how to recycle filters in gmail.

  • settings, filters

  • click edit for the filter you want to call or handle manually

  • skip the first screen, click "Continue"

  • in this second window you can change your settings or just check "Also apply filter to match chains". check the box and click the refresh filter.

There you do everything in your inbox that was recalled or manually updated.
