Understanding Apache HttpClient Wiring Protocol from Response
My application is using Apache HTTPClient 4.3.5 which sends an HTTP request and receives a response.
I am trying to figure out what kind of response the application got.

At first I thought, "[0x1f] [0x8b] [0x8] [0x0] [0x0] ..." is a hex string, but there is a non-hex string like ") J-". and "+ N". and each debug line ends with "[\ r] [\ n]". How can I determine what response the application received.
I have spent quite a few hours trying to find the answer but were unsuccessful.
Do I need to do something about gzip compression or pipe-based encoding?
Your help will be greatly appreciated if you can answer it.

The HttpClient explorer protocol replaces character 10 with [\n]
, character 13 with [\r]
, characters <32 and> 127 (non-printable) with [0xN]
, where N is the hexadecimal representation of char.
The reason you see a lot of non-printable characters is indeed the encoding of the GZIP content.
