How can I find the definition of the `require` function for the browser?

In the file with the browser enabled, I saw the following codes:

The function definition require

looks short, but I find the variable name in the definition require

seems to fade away. Where can I find the original definition / implementation of the require

I think I will find an answer to node_modules/browserify/node_modules/browser-pack/prelude.js

, but the codes look cryptic to me .. Hopefully someone can provide a better explanation.
