What is the minimum kernel dump size if I only need a stack backtrace?

First, the size of the stack varies and why the kernel will start popping from the stack in the first place. Perhaps it is, but I am too lazy to check.

Instead, I suggest you take a look at abrt / other stuff that can extract the information you need before anything can be saved.
