Permalink to object Not set error with [No matching source strings]

I am happy to develop an MVC / Sitecore application and everything was fine.

However, all of a sudden I got an error saying what I have Object reference not set to the instance of an Object

. The error page was pointing to a line that had nothing else than a closing parenthesis.

I tried to remove lines of code in the view that might throw the error, but the error remained at the same closing parenthesis.

So I have commented out the entire block, including the final shape. Now I am getting the following error:

Server error in application "/".

An object reference is not set on an object instance.

I turned off the WWW service completely, closed Visual Studio, deleted all temp files from the ASP.NET temp folder, restarted the service, rebooted Visual Studio, but still remains.

Can anyone make any suggestions?
