After upgrading to Spring 4, my Autowiring breaks

I recently started porting to Spring 4.1.2 from Spring 3.2.3 and for some reason I keep getting this problem using Autowiring:

I have no idea why I am getting this error as it worked fine in Spring 3.2.3. My suspicions were that Spring 4 was not lazy to load dependencies by default, so I added initLazy = true to all my @ComponentScan links. I can see that the problem is a "circular" dependency, but it should not be thrown by a StackOverflowException, especially if it works fine in the old version. Am I missing a config setup, or maybe something that needs to be changed in Spring 4?
