FFmpeg - the requested output format "mpeg" is not an appropriate output format

I am trying to use FFmpeg to convert video from mp4 to mpeg format so that I can merge multiple videos. I have a custom build of FFmpeg where I manage the config options:

But I keep getting the error: "The requested output format 'mpeg' is not suitable for the output format". This same command seems to work on my Ubuntu machine with a full FFmpeg build. What am I missing? I thought all mpeg encoders / decoders were included ... mpeg, mpegvideo, mpeg1video, mpeg2video.

Probably the result of using --disable-everything

and then not including the correct options. I see this a lot when this parameter is used and after using this option it will take a little trial and error to get everything you need.



Try adding --enable-muxer=mpeg
