Change tab completion key binding to tab in MC

There are many people who are wondering how to perform tabs. This is not one of these questions. The question is, how can I assign a tab key to complete the tab? alt-tab / esc-tab is a pain. In a closed panel, tabs are shutting down and that keeps me going for the moment ... But I still want the tab to be completed in panels to be a tab.

I tried making a tab Complete =

underneath [input]

in ~ / .config / mc / mc.keymap, but that just forces both tabs and alt-tab to go to the second pane, which I disabled, as my main goal is to view media files.

Any help would be appreciated.
