The future of Windows Script Host

What's the future of Windows Script Host?

In May 2015, Microsoft announced the end of VBscript and ActiveX in its new Windows Edge browser (which is good news for web standards, by the way). However, I cannot get the latest information on the desktop side of the scripting world. I would like to know if the VBscript, wscript.exe, cscript.exe and mshta.exe versions will be supported in the next Windows desktop versions. I'm worried because Windows Script Host reference, day after day, is getting harder to find in the MSDN library.

I have a lot of vbscript and hta files to maintain (in a professional environment) and I need to anticipate if a transition is needed soon.

If you have any information about this, please share!

Under constant maintenance, there are no updates (unless a major security flaw is discovered).

Millions of companies use, so they are secure to administer. More than half of all programmers are core programmers.
