Magento 1.9.1.1 Coupon Code Not Valid

I am using Magento version 1.9.1.1.

I am trying to set up a discount code for some customers who will be able to order 6 items for free. But for some reason I keep getting the coupon code "XYZ" is invalid. I researched but couldn't find what the problem is.

How can this be fixed?

I had some other shopping cart rule and set "Stop further processing rules" to "Yes" for this rule. So that blocked another rule. I was able to resolve the issue by prioritizing both rules and setting "Stop further rule processing" to "No". Now the coupon code works fine.

On the Calendar tab, Layout tab, select the Catalog tab and click Add. Then check the status of the rule or coupon code you created. After that, do indexing. It should now work ...

I have the same problem, so I just deleted this rule and created a new rule where it works.
