AVAssetWriter - Maximum supported resolution for each device

the title says it, I want to know the maximum resolution for each device before I start encoding the video and get the error message. I thought there was something like AVCaptureDevice supports AVCaptureSessionPreset: .. but for normal encoding using AVAssetWriter.
