Disable FPS monitor in chrome while DEV TOOLS is open

This is crazy, I have to post about it to get the answer, but there is no way to find it

I somehow made an FPS box when I'm in developer tools and I can't seem to figure out how to hide it again.

if i google they give me this link: chrome: // flags / # show-frame-counter This option shows the option with the closed dev-tools but not the open dev-tools. Please don't tell me to go to this link, yes I tried and reloaded chrome.

I need to do UX / UI, but the fact that the top right corner is confusing makes it very annoying, especially because I can't right click to close it, or view / window -> show / hide fps or whatever simple answer.

Why is it so difficult and hidden to do it? Even a search in "help" for fps gives no results

There the checkbox "Show FPS Meter" is checked, which is located on the "Rendering" tab of the "Elements" tab:

+1 for how unclear and difficult it is to find it.

Got it

Open developer tools

Click the gear in the upper right corner of the developer tools

Scroll down "Restore defaults and reboot"

Still not a "real answer", but it did what I wanted

Silly how this default restore differs from Chrome settings -> restore defaults

Just restored chrome to default because nobody could answer

Edit: Don't do this if you are trying to fix this problem, as it will not change the workbench settings
