Zsh command repeats command on exit

My apologies if this is a repetition of an already asked question. I looked at the questions asked in my opinion and tried solutions but nothing seems to work.

I am on Ubuntu and using zsh with oh-my-zsh in the terminal. If I type a command ls

, for example, it will first output something like this %ls

as the first line of output. This is distracting and I want to get rid of it.
